Privacy Policy

This is a plain-language policy that has not yet had a formal legal review. We have tried to describe exactly what the app does, and we will update this page as that review happens.

RN Prep Coach (“we”) runs rnprepcoach.com and its apps. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

Information you give us

• Account: your email address and a password. We store only a one-way scrambled version of your password (a hash); we cannot see or recover it.
• Your agreement to our Terms and this Policy, and the date and time you agreed.
• Optional testimonial: if you choose to submit one, your quote, name, and country.
• Messages you send us through the contact form (name, email, and message) or by email.
• Optional study reminders: whether you have opted in, and when.

Information from using the app

• Study progress: which questions you have answered and whether you got them right, your streak, saved (bookmarked) cases, missed questions, and lessons you have viewed.
• Learning signals you choose to give: the confidence level you pick before answering, and the reason you give for a miss.
• Exam activity: your answers, timing, and results in timed exams.
• Referrals: your personal referral code, and whether you joined using someone else’s.

Technical information

• Login records: the date and time, IP address, and device/browser details each time you log in. We use these to keep accounts secure and investigate problems.
• Server logs: our servers automatically record basic request information such as IP address and time.

Payments. Purchases are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe shares with us your plan, purchase status, expiration date, and a customer identifier. Stripe may collect billing details under its own policy.

2. How we use it

• To create and run your account and give you access to what you have purchased.
• To personalize your practice: choosing what to study next, showing your progress, and building readiness and weak-topic reports.
• To send messages about your account: email verification, password resets, and purchase-related notices.
• To send study reminders, only if you opt in (see section 6).
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
• To improve our content and the product, using aggregated or de-identified patterns where possible.
• To comply with the law and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

3. Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers who help us run RN Prep Coach, and only what they need:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Namecheap Private Email (privateemail.com) — sending our email to you.
• Our hosting provider — hosting our servers and database, in the United States.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect people’s safety, or in a business transfer such as a merger (in which case we will tell you).

AI services. We currently use AI services only to review the accuracy of our question content. We do not send them any learner data. If we add AI features that use your information, we will update this policy and tell you before it takes effect.

4. Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies or trackers. We use your browser’s local storage to keep you logged in, to remember a referral link you arrived from, and to keep a copy of your study progress so the app feels fast. You can clear local storage in your browser at any time, which will log you out.

5. Public testimonials

If you submit a testimonial, it is shown on our website only after we approve it, and it includes the name and country you gave us. You can ask us to remove it at any time, and deleting your account removes it.

6. Study reminder emails

Reminder emails are off unless you turn them on, either with the optional box at sign-up or in your Account screen. Every reminder has a one-click link to stop them, and you can switch them off in your Account screen at any time. Account and security emails are separate and are sent regardless.

7. How long we keep information

• Account, progress, and answer history: until you delete your account.
• Login records: 12 months, then automatically deleted.
• Purchase records: Stripe retains payment records as required by law and its own policies.
• Messages to us: as long as needed to respond to you and keep a reasonable record of the conversation.
• Backups: when you delete your account it is removed from our live systems right away, but copies may remain in our backups for up to 30 days before they are overwritten.

8. Security

We protect your information with measures that include encrypted connections (HTTPS), one-way password hashing, and limiting administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify affected users and, where required, authorities, as the law requires.

9. Your choices and rights

Inside your Account screen you can:

• Download your data: a file with your account details, progress, answer history, login history, and anything else we hold about you.
• Turn study reminders on or off.
• Delete your account: this removes your account, progress, answer history, login records, and testimonial from our live systems. It cannot be undone.

Depending on where you live (for example California, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Brazil, or other Latin American countries), you may have additional rights, such as to access, correct, delete, or object to the use of your information. We will honor reasonable requests of this kind wherever you live. To make a request, or to ask about something not available in the app (for example, a correction), contact us at the Contact link in the app footer. We will respond within 30 days and may need to verify it is you. Payment records held by Stripe can be requested from Stripe directly.

10. Children

RN Prep Coach is for adults preparing for a licensing exam. You must be at least 13 to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if we learn we have, we will delete it.

11. Where your information is processed

Our servers are in the United States. If you use RN Prep Coach from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If the changes are significant, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. The “Last updated” date above always shows the current version. This policy is available in English and Spanish; if you notice a difference between them, please tell us.
